What is Tuberculosis?
Tuberculosis (TB) is a microbial disease that has existed since ancient times. In humans it is caused by the microorganism Mycobacterium Tuberculosis. TB travels in droplets from the mouth of an actively infected person through the air and is inhaled into the lungs of its new host. TB will mostly ravage the tissues of the lungs although it can attack other organs of the body as well.
